HILL Peg Soap

• Hill`s Peg Soap is for maintenance of the pegs and helps to make them work well. The company "Hill" is one of the famoust luthier families in Great Britain and this peg soap is produced according to their formula.

• It is helpful to treat one peg after the other with the peg soap.

• please do not take out all pegs at a time it can dangerously happen that the instrument´s soundpost drops because of the missing string tension. Furthermore it is occassionally not easy to find the exact bridge position again.

  
  Before applying Hill`s Peg Soap please

• clean each peg freom all residues/soiliing.
• The easiest way to clean the pegs is by using alcohol. Please make sure to hold enough distance to your instrument, because by no means alcohol may have contact to the varnish of your instrument! It would disperse the varnish immediately!
• Make sure to apply the Peg Soap very economically and rotate the peg several times in its hole.

• If the peg hole does not show consistently on the peg or if you think the peg does not run well, i.e. is lose/bounces, the peg´s con and the peg of the peg`s hole do not fit together and one of them is not rounded. In both cases the peg has to be reworked by a luthier master.
