The PIRASTRO OLIV D string for viola is available gold / aluminium wound as well as silver wound and in the following gauges:

D gold/aluminium:

D silver:

• 14
• 14 1/4
• 14 1/2

The pre-chosen gauge for silver wound is medium, for gold/aluminium 16 1/4 is medium (1 Pirastro Maß =  1PM = 0,05mm). Per 1/4 PM the tension alters by 3%.
